“The only reason why we’re doing this whole thing is that we think they’re very special and we can help them,” said Olivia Lizotte of Madawaska Elementary School.

Although it may not feel like it tonight, June is upon us and that means it is time for our monthly star award. This month we are so excited to say that instead of one individual, this award is being presented to the 4th, 5th, and 6th graders from Eric Carter’s class in Madawaska Elementary School. These children spent the day Friday holding a hot dog fundraiser to benefit the Heather and Liam Connection, located in Madawaska. The Heather and Liam Connection is a non-profit organization that guides children with autism and other entangled learners through relationship development in memory of Heather Dawn Bouchard. We are so touched by the kindness and heartfelt words of these children and we could not be more pleased than to award them our star for the month of June. Thank you to all the students that participated in this wonderful event – you are making a difference and we thank you from the very bottom of our hearts!! Way to go guys!!!!!

                                Maiden Road Trip

I just received a call from Nicole Chamberland, of RF Chamberland in St. Agatha, that The Heather and Liam Connection truck is on the road! After crossing the Tappan Zee Bridge in N.Y., the driver pulled into a truck stop for the night and the next day the truck was surrounded with cars. People were taking pictures and asking questions! The driver who is said to be a quiet guy, related to Nicole how honored he is to be the driver.

Our traveling billboard has over 60 puzzle pieces adhered to the sides that were sponsored by individuals and businesses all across the country. We are surely getting the word out for autism awareness and distracted driving awareness as well as providing awareness for the sponsors of the puzzle pieces.

Sponsorship donations go directly to The Heather & Liam Connection and the monies are being used to provide services to kids aged 2 -10 at our center at the Madawaska Elementary School. Our primary goal for this after school and vacation time program is to enhance the overall lives of the clients through relationship development. People on the autism spectrum struggle with socialization. We will guide our clients to become a friend and to be a friend.

There is still space available on this trailer if a business would want to have advertisement for their business. If anyone would want to sponsor a puzzle piece or name card, please e-mail me at for more information.

Be on the lookout for The Heather & Liam Connection tractor trailer coming to a city near you.

A Sighting in Michigan!

Today while on my vacation with my family (husband and 3 and 4 year old) we crossed over from Canada to Michigan and saw the grandest sight. A semi trailer with Liam and Heather’s autism story and all the autism awareness puzzle pieces. I was touched beyond belief as I know so many autistic children in my own life and my son is on the spectrum. I told my husband to grab my phone and snap some pics. It has gotten the most positive feedback on my fb page and getting shared by everyone! I just wanted to share that and let u know the story is powerful and this image is standing out! May God bless u all..

Mommy to the 2 best kids!! :)                 2015
